Topic Two: Pattern and Ornament, Part 1 of 2-Required Outside Visit
The museum succeeded in their attempt to engage viewers with the objects of a modern society's past and how these objects still influence us today. The collection diversified the examination of visually persuasive elements in artworks and functional objects of the 18th and 19th century. From LIVING WITH MODERNITY to POLITICAL PERSUASION, the collection holistically explores the emerging identities of different societies, which allowed me to clearly see the nuances in industrialization across countries. The museum did provide many objects, both 2D and 3D, but one thing I feel would support the collection is film. I wonder if there exists visuals demonstrating the process of making certain objects or footage of the daily life of people with a growing reliance on and engagement with technology.
